BFC is committed to supporting youth as they strive for academic excellence and overall social and emotional wellness.
The ZONE, located at Dwight Morrow High School, provides comprehensive clinical and primary prevention services to students age 13-19 years old. College and career counseling and workforce readiness are also integral to the Zone. BFC staff provide individual and group counseling, tutoring, college and career preparation, work force readiness, leadership development, health education, recreation, and primary prevention programs. Services are free and voluntary and are offered Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM.
With funding from the Englewood Public School District, BFC provides ZONE program at the Janis Dismuss Middle School for young people in grades 6 to 8 daily during school hours. Mental health counseling, academic support, and enrichment are provided during the school day. ln the summer, and during winter weekends, youth development, academic enrichment such as dance, music, science and cooking are provided.
Our teen cooking program, offered in person since 2018, was featured on the Rachel Ray show during the worst of the Pandemic, after evolving into a remote cooking experience that included families. We are happy to be back live for on-site cooking during weekends and summers.
